About Anthony
Anthony G. Becht, born on August 8, 1977, is an American football coach and former player. He is currently serving as the head coach of the St. Louis Battlehawks in the XFL. Becht has also played as a tight end in the National Football League for eleven seasons, during which he was a member of several teams including the New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, St. Louis Rams, Arizona Cardinals, and Kansas City Chiefs. He played college football for the West Virginia Mountaineers and was drafted by the Jets in the first round of the 2000 NFL Draft with the 27th overall pick. Beyond his playing career, Becht has worked as a broadcaster, serving as a color commentator for the New York Jets and participating as an analyst for NFL games. He was also a college football analyst for ESPN starting in 2013 and co-hosted the 'Football Fan Shop' on the Home Shopping Network. In 2019, he was the tight ends coach for the San Diego Fleet of the Alliance of American Football. His broadcasting work includes serving as an analyst for some Sunday Night Football games on Westwood One in 2021.
