Dikembe Mutombo Mpolondo Mukamba Jean-Jacques Wamutombo was a professional basketball player from the Democratic Republic of the Congo who played center in the National Basketball Association for 18 seasons. Standing 7 feet 2 inches tall, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest shot-blockers and defensive players in NBA history. Mutombo moved to the United States at age 21 to attend Georgetown University, initially intending to pursue a medical degree and return to the DRC to practice medicine. However, he was recruited by Georgetown's basketball coach John Thompson, leading to a three-season college career that established his reputation as a tenacious defender. Selected fourth overall in the 1991 NBA draft by the Denver Nuggets, Mutombo played for six teams during his professional career, including appearances in the NBA Finals with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2001 and the New Jersey Nets in 2003. Throughout his career, he received the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award four times, tied for the most in league history, and led the NBA in blocked shots three times and in rebounds twice. He was named to eight All-Star teams and accumulated 3,289 career blocked shots, ranking second all-time in NBA history. Mutombo retired after the 2009 NBA playoffs, and his jersey number 55 was retired by both the Nuggets and Atlanta Hawks. In 2015, he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Beyond basketball, Mutombo was known for his humanitarian efforts.

A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?

What happens if I cancel?
