Jackie Chan

Chan Kong-sang, born on April 7, 1954, is a Hong Kong martial artist, actor, and filmmaker recognized for his slapstick, acrobatic fighting style, comic timing, and innovative stunts which he often performs himself. Trained in acrobatics, martial arts, and acting at the China Drama Academy as part of the Seven Little Fortunes, he began his career in the Hong Kong film industry as a stuntman before transitioning to acting. His breakthrough came with the 1978 action comedy Snake in the Eagle's Shadow, followed by notable films such as Drunken Master and The Young Master. He made his directorial debut with The Fearless Hyena in 1979, which was successful at the box office. Throughout the 1980s, Chan was part of the 'Three Dragons' along with Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao and developed his signature style combining elaborate, dangerous stunts with martial arts and humor. His work in films like Project A, Wheels on Meals, and Police Story established his reputation for inventive action sequences. Chan gained international fame with Rumble in the Bronx in 1995, making him the most popular action star in Eurasia by the mid-1990s. His Hollywood success was solidified with the role of Chief Inspector Lee in Rush Hour, which he reprised in two sequels. Chan has appeared in numerous American and Chinese films, including the Shanghai series, and is known for collaborations with stars like Jet Li. He holds Guinness World Records for most stunts performed by a living actor and most credits in one movie.
