Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Shrader Maroney, known professionally as Jennifer Lawrence, is an American actress and producer born on August 15, 1990. She began her career with guest roles on television and gained recognition as a main cast member on The Bill Engvall Show from 2007 to 2009. Her film debut occurred in 2008 with a supporting role in Garden Party, and she earned the Marcello Mastroianni Award for her performance in The Burning Plain. Her breakthrough role was in the independent film Winter's Bone in 2010, which earned her her first Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. Lawrence achieved international prominence for her portrayal of Mystique in the X-Men film series and Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games series, with the latter making her the highest-grossing action heroine of all time. She has collaborated multiple times with filmmaker David O. Russell, earning critical acclaim and awards, including the Academy Award for Best Actress for Silver Linings Playbook in 2012, making her the second-youngest winner in that category. Her performances in American Hustle, Joy, Passengers, Mother!, and Red Sparrow have garnered varied critical and commercial responses. After a hiatus, she returned to film with Don't Look Up in 2021 and has since starred in Causeway, No Hard Feelings, and Die My Love, all of which she co-produced. Outside her acting career, Lawrence founded the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation in 2015 to support charitable causes such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the Special Olympics.
