Marino was actively involved in efforts to strengthen the shop stewards' movement and was elected to the union's National Executive Council in 1971. His role included participating in national negotiations concerning pay and working conditions. Previously, he worked as a baker at the Knightsbridge Cakes factory in Old Trafford. Following a national strike by BFAWU members in 1978, Marino's profile rose, leading to his election as the union's general secretary in 1979. During his tenure, he was associated with Militant, a Trotskyist group within the Labour Party. Marino remained in this leadership position until his retirement in 2010. In 1998, he joined the executive of the General Federation of Trade Unions and served as its chair from 2009 to 2011. Apart from his trade union activities, Marino has been involved in political pursuits, including standing for election in London as a candidate for the Socialist Labour Party in 1999, advocating a Eurosceptic stance. What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No charges after that. Your data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate.
