About Kathryn
Kathryn Ann Bigelow is an American filmmaker born on November 27, 1951. She has received numerous awards including two Academy Awards, two BAFTA Awards, and a Primetime Emmy Award. Bigelow made her debut as a director with the outlaw biker film The Loveless in 1981. She gained prominence for directing several thrillers such as Near Dark in 1987, Blue Steel in 1990, Point Break in 1991, Strange Days in 1995, and K-19 The Widowmaker in 2002. Her film The Hurt Locker, released in 2008, earned her the distinction of being the first woman to win the Academy Award for Best Director. She continued to direct notable films includingZero Dark Thirty in 2012, Detroit in 2017, and A House of Dynamite scheduled for 2025. In addition to feature films, Bigelow directed episodes of the NBC series Homicide Life on the Street during 1998 and 1999. Her work has extended into documentary filmmaking, earning her the Primetime Emmy Award for Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking for Cartel Land in 2015. Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
