Marybeth Roe Tinning, born on September 11, 1942, is an American woman convicted of the murder of her ninth child, a four-month-old named Tami Lynne, in December 1985. She is also suspected of being involved in the deaths of her previous eight children, all of whom died within a span of fourteen years. The initial cause of death for her first eight children was thought to be genetic, and even the death of an adopted child, Michael, in 1981 was not investigated at the time. Eventually, prosecutors obtained evidence indicating that Tami Lynne's death resulted from asphyxia by suffocation, leading to Tinning's conviction for second-degree murder in July 1987. She was sentenced to twenty years to life in prison. An appeal contesting the coercion of her confession and the sufficiency of evidence was denied by the New York Supreme Court. There is consideration among some experts that her behavior might align with criteria for Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a disorder characterized by recurrent episodes of falsification or induction of illness in a victim. Tinning was incarcerated at Taconic Correctional Facility in Bedford Hills, New York. Despite multiple denied parole requests, she was ultimately granted parole in July 2018 and was released in August of that year.

Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
