About Mavis
Mavis Staples, born on July 10, 1939, is an American rhythm and blues and gospel singer and civil rights activist. She gained prominence as a member of her family's band, the Staple Singers, where she was the last surviving member. During her tenure with the group, she recorded notable singles such as I'll Take You There and Let's Do It Again. In 1969, Staples released her self-titled debut solo album and continued to produce solo work in the following decades. She collaborated with a variety of artists including Aretha Franklin, Prince, Arcade Fire, Nona Hendryx, Ry Cooder, David Byrne, and Bob Dylan, who was also her former romantic partner. Her eighth studio album, You Are Not Alone, released in 2010, received critical acclaim and marked her first chart-topping album on a Billboard chart, winning her a Grammy Award. Her subsequent albums include One True Vine, Livin' on a High Note, If All I Was Was Black, and We Get By. She also featured on Hozier's single Nina Cried Power. Staples has received numerous accolades including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award as a member of the Staple Singers and five solo Grammy Awards. She has been recognized by Rolling Stone as one of the greatest singers of all time, and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999, the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2018, and the Blues Hall of Fame in 2017. In 2016, she was honored as a Kennedy Center Honoree, and in 2019 she received the Rock Hall Honors Award for her solo work.

What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No charges after that. Your data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate.
Is the 20% annual discount automatic?
Yes. Select Annual on the pricing toggle and the discounted price is applied automatically at checkout. The annual price shown is the full year cost.
