Michael Wayne Campbell, born February 1, 1950, is an American guitarist and vocalist known for his work with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. As a member of the band, he co-wrote numerous hits including Refugee, Here Comes My Girl, You Got Lucky, and Runnin' Down a Dream. His contributions extend beyond the band through session work and songwriting for various artists. Campbell played on notable tracks such as Don Henley's The Boys of Summer and The Heart of the Matter. He also contributed to most of Stevie Nicks's solo albums. In 2002, Campbell was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. In 2018 and 2019, Campbell, alongside Neil Finn, joined Fleetwood Mac on their world tour to replace lead guitarist Lindsey Buckingham.
