Monica Feria-Tinta

Monica Feria-Tinta is a British and Peruvian barrister practicing at Twenty Essex chambers in London. She is recognized as a specialist in public international law and has been described as one of Britain's most dazzling legal minds. Feria-Tinta is notable for being the first Latin American lawyer called to and practicing at the Bar of England and Wales. Her legal work includes significant cases such as acting as counsel in the first international human rights court decision to order the prosecution of a former head of state for crimes under international law. She has received awards including the Inge Genefke International Award in 2006 and the Gruber Justice Prize in 2007, the latter awarded at a ceremony attended by US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
