About Ngozi
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is a Nigerian economist and author who has been serving as the director-general of the World Trade Organization since March 2021. She holds the distinction of being the first woman and the first African to lead the organization. Prior to this role, she had a distinguished career at the World Bank, where she worked for 25 years and ultimately served as Managing Director for Operations from 2007 to 2011. Okonjo-Iweala has also held significant positions in Nigeria's government, becoming the first Nigerian woman to serve two terms as Finance Minister. She was appointed under Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, serving from 2003 to 2006 and again from 2011 to 2015. Additionally, she served as Nigeria's Minister for Foreign Affairs from June to August 2006. Her expertise in finance has been recognized internationally, as evidenced by her being named Global Finance Minister of the Year by Euromoney in 2005. Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
