Oscar Leonard Carl Pistorius is a South African former professional sprinter and a double amputee. Born on 22 November 1986, he had both of his legs amputated below the knee when he was 11 months old due to a birth defect that caused him to be born missing the outsides of both feet and both fibulas. Pistorius competed in both nondisabled sprint events and in sprint races for below-knee amputees, becoming the tenth athlete to participate in both the Paralympic and Olympic Games. He competed at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics, where he became the first amputee to win a nondisabled world track medal, and participated in the 2012 Summer Olympics as the first double-leg amputee to do so. His athletic career faced controversy over his artificial limbs, which some argued provided an unfair advantage; however, he successfully challenged the International Association of Athletics Federations' objections. Pistorius's career was ultimately marked by a criminal conviction when he shot and killed his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, at his Pretoria home in 2013. He claimed to have mistaken her for an intruder; initially convicted of culpable homicide, his conviction was later upgraded to murder on appeal. Pistorius was sentenced to prison and served a total of 8.5 years before being released on parole on 5 January 2024. His legal proceedings included various convictions and sentences, with his prison term ultimately extended to 15 years less time served.

What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
