Paris Whitney Hilton, born on February 17, 1981, in New York City, is an American media personality, socialite, and businesswoman. She is a great-granddaughter of Hilton Hotels founder Conrad Hilton. She gained early notice in the late 1990s for her presence in New York City's social scene and entered the fashion modeling industry in 2000. By 2001, she was acclaimed as New York's leading It Girl. Hilton achieved international fame through her role in the reality television series The Simple Life, which she co-starred in with Nicole Richie from 2003 to 2007. Her notoriety was further amplified by the leak and subsequent release of a sex tape from 2003, later titled 1 Night in Paris.
