About Simon

Simon King is an English meteorologist and Royal Air Force officer who currently serves as the lead weather presenter for the BBC. He is the resident weather correspondent on BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast. King grew up in Royston, Hertfordshire, and attended Roysia Middle School and the Meridian School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science of the Earth and Atmosphere followed by a Master of Science in Applied Meteorology, both from the University of Reading. In July 2005, King joined the Met Office as a forecaster in the Mobile Met Unit, a specialist team of forecasters who are also reserve officers in the RAF. After undergoing training with both organizations, he was posted as a Flying Officer to RAF Benson and subsequently participated in operations in Iraq. In August 2008, King began working with BBC Weather, presenting across the entire BBC News output as well as on BBC World. He maintains a connection with the RAF and was deployed to Camp Bastion in Afghanistan in 2010. Outside of his professional pursuits, King's hobbies include snowboarding and wakeboarding.

A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.

Can I switch plans later?

Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
