A Chat with Anat
Genetic therapy: What does the future hold and how can we be ready?
In this episode, I am joined by my fellow Vision Academy member Dr Cynthia Qian, Associate Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at the University of Montreal, Montreal, Canada. Join us as we explore genetic therapies as emerging therapeutic approaches in ophthalmology. We provide a background and history of genetic therapies in ophthalmology and discuss current approaches and landscape, including ongoing trials and practical challenges. Finally, we dive into how healthcare systems, clinicians, and patients can all be prepared and supported as genetic therapies enter clinical practice. To learn more about genetic therapies and optogenetics, read the papers on genetic therapy updates and optogenetics for retinal diseases , co-authored by Cynthia.
