Why Children Need Scary Stories to Build Resilience | Dr. Randolph Schiffer
Aug 19, 202652 min
Can a scary story actually help a child become braver? I'm joined by Dr. Randolph B Schiffer, a retired neurologist and psychiatrist who made the fascinating shift into writing children's fiction. We talk about his book, Bedtime Stories That Will Terrify Children, and look at how stepping into safe, controlled fear can actually equip young minds for the real world. We cover: • His transition from a medical career in neurology and psychiatry into storytelling. • Why modern culture often struggles to teach kids genuine resilience and personal responsibility. • How measured, thoughtful fear in stories helps children learn how to process difficult emotions and be brave. • The deeper purpose behind sharing stories and building meaningful connections with the next generation. Why Relationships Break Down (And How to Fix Them) with Jax Beatty
Jul 31, 20262h 5m
Why do relationships in your life keep breaking down, whether it's friendships, family, or romantic connections? This conversation might help explain why, and what you can actually do about it. In this episode, I'm sitting down with psychotherapist Jax Beatty to get into the messy reality of human relationships and mental health. We skip the fluff and walk through the exact stages of where things get stuck: The Post-Honeymoon Reality: What happens when the biological high wears off and relationships start to feel flat. Attachment Styles: How our wiring creates that exhausting push-and-pull dynamic. Overthinking & ADHD: Why a dry text or a slight shift in mood can trigger an emotional emergency. Conflict & Repair: How to handle arguments in a healthy way without tearing each other apart. Outside Noise: Managing family pressures, friends, and external opinions that bleed into your bond. Keeping Desire Alive: What it actually takes to stop turning into housemates and keep the spark going. Want to hear more from Jax on healing from heartbreak? Astrology and Self-Hypnosis (feat. Marvin L Wilkerson)
Jul 2, 20261h 30m
Are you living your own life, or just following a script written in your childhood? What if you could consciously choose your attitude, regardless of your past conditioning? Most of us aren’t living our own lives, we’re living our conditioning. Before the age of seven, your foundational habits, fears, and internal scripts were given to us from a young age. In this episode, we’re clearing out the noise to see who you actually are beneath it all. Join me and Marvin L. Wilkerson as we move beyond theory to offer practical tools you can use day-to-day. We discuss how astrology acts as a map for your healing, combined with self-hypnosis and NLP to identify and change the subconscious limitations installed in early childhood. Connect with Marvin and check out the tools he offers: Marvin Wilkerson: A master astrologer, certified hypnotherapist, and NLP expert. Marvin blends ancient wisdom with modern psychological practices to help people unlock their potential and heal from deep-seated trauma. https://www.astromarv.com/about-marvin Star Charts: Astrologers use precise tools to map these internal patterns. https://alabe.com/solarfireV9.html You can find Marvin’s book in the usual places online; I’ve included a direct link to the audiobook version at the bottom of this episode. Surviving the Narcissist Reclaim Your Life ft. Saige Whitney
May 29, 20261h 27m
Escaping a narcissist is possible, and in this episode, Saige Whitney shares the exact steps to reclaiming your life and peace of mind. If you feel like you’re walking on eggshells, this conversation is the turning point you’ve been waiting for. I sat down with Saige Whitney to go beyond the surface and dive deep into what it actually feels like to be trapped by a narcissist. We talk about why these relationships feel like you're living in a dark room—and why it’s so hard to see the truth until you finally "turn the lights on". We discuss: How to identify if someone sees you as a human being or just a "stepping stone" for their own gain. The reality of what happens behind closed doors, away from the public persona a narcissist maintains. How to harness "sacred anger" as a tool for recovery rather than letting it consume you. The absolute necessity of prioritizing your own safety over the feelings of someone who is toxic. Saige’s story of coming out the other side is proof that you can stop saving everyone else and start reclaiming your own life. If you are currently stuck in a cycle you can't seem to break, this episode is for you. Episode Chapters: Intro: Moving past the fog of abuse Are you a human being or a "stepping stone"? I Don’t Recognise Myself Anymore (with Jax, Beckie & Sue)
May 12, 20261h 23m
What do you do when the version of yourself you’ve known for years suddenly feels like a stranger? Whether it’s triggered by motherhood, a career change, or the painful end of a relationship, losing your identity is a heavy, isolating experience. When a breakup happens, it isn't just the loss of a partner, it’s the loss of the person you were with them. In this episode of APTSH, I’m joined by Jax, Beckie, and Sue to talk about the raw reality of "grieving" the person you used to be, and how to find your footing when your life story has been completely disrupted. We discuss the path to recovery and improvement, including: Breaking the "Couple" Identity: How to find out who you are when you're no longer part of a "we." From Chaos to Clarity: How to stop feeling like you have "no leg to stand on" and start grounding yourself in your new reality. Falling in Love with Yourself Again: Practical ways to rediscover your spark and your own interests in small, manageable steps. Reframing the "Loss": Why "Narrative Disruption" (like a breakup or divorce) isn't the end of your story, but the beginning of a more authentic chapter. The "Survivor" Mindset: Shifting from feeling like a victim of change to becoming someone who is confidently reinventing themselves. If you’ve been feeling like you’re just performing a role or struggling to remember who you were before the breakup, this episode offers the tools to help you stop looking back and start moving forward. Connect with the panel: Jax Beatty: Psychotherapist specialising in the internal chaos of the self. Instagram Beckie Sorby: Clinical Hypnotherapist and NLP Practitioner helping people navigate personal evolution. beckiesorby.co.uk Sue Ashford: Transformational Life Coach (The Mid Life Coach Jersey) focusing on mid-life transitions and reinvention. sueashford.com Enjoyed the show? Every question we get asked before someone starts their trial.
If you have a concern about deliverability, AI quality, data privacy, or whether this will actually work for your specific situation, it's probably answered below.
What is the difference between Founder Solo and Founder Pro?
Founder Solo gives you 50 AI pitches per month using the credit model (Standard pitches cost 1 credit, Enriched pitches cost 2). Founder Pro raises that to 200 credits per month and adds full Booking Probability access, unlimited Magic Match, Apollo enrichment credits, and data export capabilities. Both plans use the same credit system, so you can stretch your monthly budget further by using Standard-mode drafting.
How do agency tiers work?
Agency tiers have no base fee. You pay per managed client and per talent profile. Agency Standard is $199 per client per month; Agency Pro is $399 per client per month. Both add $39 per talent profile per month. Your own team's user seats are always free.
What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No charges after that. Your data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate.
Is the 20% annual discount automatic?
Yes. Select Annual on the pricing toggle and the discounted price is applied automatically at checkout. The annual price shown is the full year cost.
What if I have more than 50 profiles or 20 clients?
That is our Enterprise tier. Contact our sales team and we will build a custom plan with volume pricing, a dedicated account manager, and SLA guarantees.
