Should Church Musicians Be Paid? — Cleon Richardson
One of Cleon Richardson's students just spent £2,500 on a keyboard. He'll practice for years, haul it to church every Sabbath, and play for free. Meanwhile, the pastor preaching after him gets a salary. So here's the question the church keeps avoiding: should musicians be compensated? In this episode, I sit down with Cleon, a producer and arranger from Trinidad with 30 years of experience working with Adventist artists across the Caribbean. He takes the question straight to 1 Chronicles and makes a biblical case that's hard to dismiss. The church already applies this principle to one group of people, just not musicians.
