Chase Merriweather On Racing Towards A Paralympic Dream
In this week’s episode I sat down with Chase Merriweather. Chase is a 16-year-old track athlete and Paralympic hopeful who competes in the 100m and 400m. A quad amputee, Chase’s journey began after a life-threatening flu virus led to septic shock and eventually his amputations in 2013. Today, he has turned his challenges into determination, competing at the highest levels of adaptive track and field. Chase is currently training and working toward his dream of representing Team USA at the LA 2028 Paralympic Games. We discuss competing against and being in community with athletes you look up to, understanding how to talk about para athletics and para sport, what it would mean for him to compete in LA 28 and so much more.
