Kawhi Dodges the Questions | Chargers 0-3 & Three MLB Sweeps — Generational Divide Friday 10/2/26
Peyton Lodge (22) and Coach open on the wreckage of the NFL's first three weeks. Caleb Williams (hamstring), Jayden Daniels (elbow) and Jaxson Dart (season-ending knee surgery) all went down in Week 2. Coach calls Williams the biggest loss because Chicago is closest to a playoff run. Peyton says it's Dart, because the Giants' season goes with him, even if Case Keenum just led the Bears past the Eagles on Monday night. That leads to Coach's real question for the Gen Z guy: why was Caleb Williams grinning in a robe in the locker room while Keenum got the game ball? Then the 0-3 Chargers, who lost 26-14 to the Cardinals and the Raiders and 24-16 in Buffalo. Coach thinks Jim Harbaugh has lost touch and that this team starts 0-9. Peyton's theory is that Mike McDaniel's motion-heavy offense is simply too much. The MLB postseason is three Wild Card sweeps in. Ben Rice went 4-for-5 with a grand slam as the Yankees swept Boston without Aaron Judge, and Peyton has the rookie autograph card to prove he was early. The Padres held the Cubs to one run in two games behind Mason Miller and their bullpen, which Coach says makes the Cubs "the Cowboys of Major League Baseball." The White Sox, three straight 100-loss seasons behind them, swept the Astros while Houston booed Hunter Brown off the mound. On who can stop a Dodgers three-peat, Coach says the Dodgers don't have the "it" factor this year. Peyton trusts a rotation of Yamamoto, Skubal, Snell and Glasnow. In "Roll It", Munetaka Murakami's champagne-soaked postgame breaks both hosts. Kawhi Leonard's first Raptors media session turns into the debate of the night. Coach calls it a masterclass and argues that players sign what their agents put in front of them. Peyton, a Clippers fan, says Kawhi knew exactly what he signed. Then comes the Brazilian call of Tyler Loop's 56-yard walk-off as the Ravens beat the Cowboys 34-31 in Rio. Peyton, a young broadcaster himself, asks whether U.S. booths will ever allow that energy, and Coach draws on his years working with Gus Johnson. Call Your Shots closes it out with Patriots at Bills, Chiefs at Raiders, Lions at Panthers on Sunday night and Falcons at Saints on Monday night. The picks are the hosts' opinions, and the spreads were quoted on Oct 1, so check current numbers before acting on anything.
