Episode #63
Playing to win VS. Playing not to lose
This week, we’re talking about the difference between playing to win and playing not to lose—in our businesses, our relationships, our bodies, and really, our lives. I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately as my son starts his first weeks in the army, watching what it looks like to truly go all in for something you want. Because playing to win means putting failure on the table. You might miss the shot. You might fall flat on your face. But when we spend all our energy protecting ourselves from losing, we also protect ourselves from the possibility of really fucking winning. I’m sharing where I see this showing up in my own life, what a very defensive World Cup game taught me about how boring it is to spend the whole game protecting the goal, and how I see entrepreneurs creating perfectly good, perfectly beige content while holding back the very things that could bring their people closer. This isn’t about hustling harder, sharing every private detail of your life, or winning at all costs. It’s about asking yourself one really important question: Where am I technically in the game—but still playing it safe? And what might happen if you finally took the shot? And if you know you’re ready to stop holding back in your business and want some support actually doing that, SEEN is my three-session private coaching package where we work together on exactly this—helping you express yourself more honestly, show up more confidently, and let the right people actually meet the real you.
