Aug 17, 202619 minS5
The dog days of August are proving to be anything but quiet. The Tech Divergence: Why the market is prioritizing the "picks and shovels" of AI infrastructure (with memory names like SanDisk and Western Digital gaining on long-term revenue guidance) while punishing software and consulting names like Accenture, which slid 3.3% . The Retail Gauntlet: With July's retail sales contracting by 0.6% , we look ahead to tomorrow's Home Depot earnings and Walmart's report later this week. Is the consumer slowing down, or is the American wallet just on a temporary summer vacation?
