Israel is the cyber powerhouse, like it or not
Israel is still the world's cyber powerhouse, and European buyers separate politics from procurement, Planven Managing Partner Eran Westman explains why. Westman splits his time between Zurich and Tel Aviv running a fund he calls "dual citizenship." He pushes back on the idea that Israeli tech has become hard to sell in Europe: buyers "know to distinguish between geopolitical or political views and choosing the best technology." The real problem, he argues, is that Israeli founders treat Europe as a second market and arrive too late. He also explains why "I'll do Europe" fails the same way "I'll do Asia" always did, and tells the story behind Nozomi Networks' billionaire sale to Mitsubishi Electric.
