Undeniable: From Gang Life to God’s Purpose | Stephan Guy’s Story of Redemption
How does a pastor’s kid go from growing up in church to drugs, gang life, carrying a gun—and eventually prison? In this episode of Undeniable , recorded at C3 Church in Calgary, Stephan Guy shares the raw story of how quickly his life spiralled after moving away from home, and how God met him in the middle of the consequences. What began with drugs and working in bars escalated into dealing, violence, gang connections and carrying a handgun. Stephan admits that the amount of drugs he was taking should have destroyed him: “It’s only the grace of God that I’m even alive.” After his arrest, Stephan walked away from that life, overcame his addictions with the support of his family and returned to his faith. But two years later, he still had to face the consequences of his past and was sentenced to prison. It was there that Stephan began to understand that God could even use the darkest chapter of his story. A fellow inmate told him he had been praying for a sign that God still loved him—and then Stephan arrived. Later, while working in the prison kitchen, Stephan’s worship became a source of peace for another inmate struggling through severe drug withdrawal. What looked like punishment began to reveal a purpose. In this episode, Stephan shares his journey through addiction, gang life, prison, redemption, miraculous provision and healing , and how Jesus transformed the direction of his life. Today, Stephan’s story is almost unrecognizable from the life he once lived—but he wouldn't erase his past. Instead, he sees how God has used it to shape the man he is today. From being feared by others to discovering a completely different kind of power—the power of Jesus. This is a story of consequences, second chances and a God who can bring purpose out of even the darkest places. Jesus redeems. Jesus restores. Jesus is undeniable.
