One Night Only | Rom-Com, Sex-Com, or Satire?
Welcome back to Call Me When They Kiss! Today we are reviewing a romantic comedy that got a theatrical release, which is always exciting! But is it actually a romantic comedy?? Let us know what you think. One Night Only stars Callum Turner and Monica Barbaro in a dystopian United States where premarital sex has been outlawed for all but one night a year. They race across New York City, both trying to find someone to sleep with before their 12-hour chance is up. Before we dive into our thoughts on this bizarre "rom-com," we also discuss the Verity trailer that dropped this week, as well as a few romance shows recently on our radar. Plus, Sydney has a bone to pick with men in what are typically women-dominated spaces. Thank you for listening and don't forget to leave a rating and review! Next week, we're covering "My Brilliant Career." All episodes are out now on Netflix. And don't forget, our monthly bonus book episode drops August 31, featuring special guest, author Jen DeLuca! We'll be discussing her "Well Met" series including her upcoming release, "Well Versed," which will be available September 22!
