[#13] Why I Changed My Approach to Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy
Over the last year, I’ve slowly started stepping back from pelvic floor physical therapy. I still want to help women with pelvic floor issues, especially when those issues are keeping them from running, lifting, or doing the things they want to do. But my idea of what it means to be a pelvic floor physical therapist has evolved. So in this episode, I share my own experience with athletic urinary incontinence and how it led me to pelvic floor physical therapy in the first place, why my approach to pelvic floor PT has changed, and where it fits into my practice now. Main Topics Covered: Why I pursued pelvic floor physical therapy What I originally thought pelvic floor PT would look like in my career My difficulty finding pelvic floor PT mentorship Being pushed toward pelvic floor PT as my “niche” What I actually enjoy about pelvic floor physical therapy How my personal experiences shaped my approach to pelvic floor care Where pelvic floor physical therapy fits into my practice now Continue the conversation: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dr.coach.kelseydpt Monthly Newsletter: https://www.anteaterptp.com/newsletter Episode topic requests: email podcast@anteaterptp.com
