The Coaching For Pastors Podcast provides coaching, encouragement, and support to pastors - regardless of gender, denomination, or church size. Until we meet our first over-encouraged pastor, we will produce weekday Quick Hit episodes (Mon-Fri) that are under ten minutes long, and Saturday Weekend Editions, which are closer to an hour, where conversations with guests will challenge and inspire you! Share this podcast with other pastors, unless they're over-encouraged already. Yeah, we didn't think so! Jeff Keady is a 35-year ministry veteran, and currently the lead pastor at Community Heights Church in Newton IA, and is the co-founder of the 200churches Podcast with Jonny Craig.

Episode #240
Episode 240 – I Am Not Only Called To Ministry
Jan 2, 202520 min
After 20 months (since April 2023), I’m back. At least for today. No commitments yet, but I am taking today to talk with you about what we’re called to. I get to that at about the 6 or 7-minute mark. Where have I been? I’ve been right here the whole time, not recording. My opulent and luxurious podcast studio has sat quietly by while I have committed myself other things – like grandkids and ministry. I think I also just needed a break, but it was too long. I’ve really missed this Coaching For Pastors Podcast, and my 200churches Podcast. When Jimmy Carter died the other day, I resurrected an episode we did almost six years ago with the pastor of his church in Plains, GA. I did a little editing and then re-released it for The 200churches Podcast. Which motivated me to release a Coaching For Pastors episode. Welcome to 2025! Happy New Year! Again, no commitments, but I hope I get back in the saddle of podcasting. I’ve missed you. Finally, thanks to those of you who have messaged to check up on me over these past months. I’ve appreciated it. Support the show For more great content and conversations for pastors, check out the over 400 episodes of the 200churches Podcast !
Episode 239 - Let's Not Neglect the Disciplines of Pastoral Ministry
Apr 21, 20239 min
My friend, with society and culture speeding up at an exponential rate, it's becoming obvious that this isn't just a "phase" that will pass. We are on a trajectory that will leave us increasingly over-scheduled, inundated, preoccupied, and constantly tending to the tyranny of the urgent. In this episode I ask what YOU are doing to get off the merry-go-round of culture. How can we be sure to not wander from the spiritual disciplines of solitude, prayer, and study in order to fulfill our callings as pastors? Episode 238 - Limit Your Scope and Narrow Your Focus
Apr 4, 202313 min
You already know Pastor, the speed and dynamics of life and ministry are increasing exponentially these days. Somehow we have to turn the firehose into a kitchen faucet, so that we can both survive and make an impact. Some thoughts after two weeks off - and after turning... 60! Episode 237 - Equipping Our People By Getting Out of Their Way!
Mar 17, 20239 min
Our role, per Ephesians 4, as pastors is to equip our people to do the work of the ministry - and I contend that somethings the best way we can equip them, is to recognize that they are already gifted by the Holy Spirit, and we just need to get out of their way!
