Episode #464
"Bold for Christ" Sunday Morning August 16th
What does it look like to stand firm when the pressure is on? In Acts 4, we find ourselves in the middle of a gripping scene where ordinary fishermen face the most powerful religious authorities of their day, and rather than backing down, they speak with a boldness that leaves everyone astonished. The remarkable thing is not what made them extraordinary, but what made them ordinary. They were uneducated, common men who had simply been with Jesus. That single reality changed everything. This message calls us to examine what true biblical boldness actually is, stripping away the misconceptions that it requires a certain personality type, a high level of education, or a naturally confident temperament. Instead, we discover that boldness is a Spirit-given virtue that enables us to humbly stand for the truth without wavering. It is not a confidence in who we are, but a confidence in whom we know. As we sit with this passage, we are invited to ask ourselves a pointed question: how much time are we actually spending with Jesus? Because the fruit of that time is not just personal growth, it is the kind of courageous, gospel-centered living that the world cannot explain.
