DAY 232: Sabbath, Passover, and Firstfruits
DAY 232: Sabbath, Passover, and Firstfruits Bible Plan Reading: Leviticus 23:1-14; 1 Corinthians 15:20 // 5-Year Braided Chronological Bible Reading Plan Devotional Available on Amazon PrayerScripts 5-Year Bible Reading Plan // ________________________________________ Your calendar quietly teaches you what matters. Tests, birthdays, games, deadlines, paydays, and holidays all shape what you expect and remember. The Lord tells Moses to announce His appointed feasts to Israel. First comes the weekly Sabbath, a holy gathering and day of complete rest. First Corinthians 15 says Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. Leviticus’ firstfruits offering celebrated the first part of the harvest as a promise of more to come. God gives His people rhythms of memory and hope. He knows they need repeated reminders of rescue, rest, and provision. Passover points to Jesus’ sacrifice, and Firstfruits points to His resurrection. He is the Lamb whose blood rescues, and He is the risen One whose life guarantees more life to come. Look at your calendar for the next seven days. Add one specific rhythm that remembers Jesus’ resurrection: Scripture, worship, prayer, or rest. ________________________________________ REFLECT & RESPOND Key Line: What you repeat will teach you what to remember. Reflection Question: What does your current calendar train you to trust, remember, and value most? Practice: Schedule one concrete rhythm this week that helps you remember Jesus’ resurrection. ________________________________________ PRAYER God, teach me to order my time around Your rescue and hope. Forgive me for giving You leftovers in my attention and gratitude. Thank You that Jesus is the risen Firstfruits and that His resurrection promises life for Your people.
