Naomi Parry - Styling Amy Winehouse & Exploring Creative Legacy
On today’s episode, it’s an honour to welcome to the podcast the multidisciplinary creative Naomi Parry. A creative director, designer and writer who works across music and culture, for over two decades Naomi has worked with brands such as Fred Perry, and has contributed to media and broadcast projects with the BBC, ITV, Vogue and The Guardian to name a few. Naomi is best known for both her personal and professional relationship with Amy Winehouse. She first met Amy in 2005, and worked as her stylist and creative director until her passing her in 2011. She has continued to honour Amy in the years since her death. In 2020, she led "Beyond Black", a full-scale curatorial project that reframed Amy’s legacy and the public narrative surrounding her life. She released an accompanying book of the same name and appeared in the BBC Documentary “Reclaiming Amy” in 2021. On today’s episode, Naomi will discuss her the diverse nature of her work, her experiences working side by side with Amy Winehouse, and will explore the idea of creative legacy.
