Charleston's Downtown Art & Architecture Walking Tour takes visitors along the capital city's brick sidewalks to explore the history, public art and architecture that help tell Charleston's story. Led by a guide, the walking tour gives participants a closer look at downtown and an opportunity to notice the buildings, details and works of art that are easy to miss when you're driving by. It's a chance for visitors and longtime residents alike to slow down, look around and discover something new about West Virginia's capital city. Located near Hillsboro in Pocahontas County, Beartown State Park is home to massive sandstone formations that tower over narrow crevices, passageways and rock rooms resembling the streets of a hidden stone city. A half-mile wooden boardwalk winds through, around and above the formations, with some rock walls rising more than 40 feet above the trail. The entire loop can be explored in about 20 to 30 minutes, making Beartown an easy addition to a Greenbrier Valley road trip. And with Watoga State Park, Droop Mountain Battlefield State Park and the Greenbrier River Trail nearby, there's plenty more to explore. Don't forget your camera.
