NIGHTMARE/ATMOSFEAR Part 1 and 2 - VHS Board game review from the 1990s!
Jun 23, 202616 minS1
NIGHTMARE ! - the video board game. mention those words in the Mid 1990s and pretty much everyone would know what you were talking about. Nightmare was an epic video board game back in 1991 that spawned 3 sequels and various reboots. In this video, I discuss a few things about NIGHTMARE part 1 featuring the infamous 'Gatekeeper' and Nightmare 2- Baron Samedi- The Zombie. These games have a place in everyone memory if you grew up in the early to mid 90s, as if you cant remember the catch cry "YES MY GATEKEEPER!" hahaI thought it would be fun to take a look at the first two parts of the series and discuss what i liked and didn't like about them. I often think to myself, what if this type of game was released in todays era? I know that they created a reboot of Atmosfear using an app etc, but i just feel that having an actual guy on a screen scream at you and who isn't CG is a bit more frightening. The actors who play The gate Keeper and Baron Samedi are actually really good. As always, if you enjoyed the vid, leave a like, comment about what you thought of the games below, and if you want to stay up to date with my uploads hit the subscribe button. Until next time on Daska Discusses! BOOM!
One, Two, Freddy’s Still Coming For You –A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (1984) Deep Dive
Jun 16, 202628 minS1
One, Two, Freddy’s Still Coming For You – A Nightmare on Elm Street Deep Dive I watched A Nightmare on Elm Street for the first time when I was just 5 years old… and it absolutely traumatised me. Years later I came back to it as a 12-year-old and it became one of my favourite horror movies of all time. In this episode, I’m taking a deep dive into Wes Craven’s 1984 classic that changed horror forever. We cover: • My terrifying first watch at age 5 vs. my obsessed rewatches as an adult • Robert Englund’s legendary performance that turned Freddy into a pop culture icon • Heather Langenkamp as the ultimate Final Girl (Nancy Thompson) • John Saxon & the heartbreaking parental failure theme • Johnny Depp’s very first movie role and that insane bed death scene • My favourite scenes: the glove creation, Tina’s nightmare, the stretching hallway & Glen’s death • Why the practical effects and dream logic still hold up better than most modern horror • That incredibly weird, ambiguous ending — and why it was the perfect (and frustrating) choice Plus, we explore how one low-budget horror movie created a massive franchise, launched “dream slasher” horror, and made Freddy Krueger a household name. If you love classic horror, practical effects, or just want to revisit Elm Street, this episode is for you. Sweet dreams… and don’t fall asleep. 🎧 Hit play, and tell me in the comments: What age did you first watch A Nightmare on Elm Street? #ANightmareOnElmStreet #FreddyKrueger #HorrorPodcast #WesCraven #80sHorror
