SUNDAY - AUGUST 30, 2026 "Light vs. Dark" Acts 26:12-23
A light brighter than the sun stops a violent persecutor in his tracks and turns him into a witness for Jesus. That’s the scene Paul describes in Acts 26:12-23, and it forces a personal question: are we moving toward the light, or fighting it while pretending we’re fine? We unpack Paul’s road to Damascus conversion as he speaks before King Agrippa, including the haunting line, “It is hard for you to kick against the goads.” We talk about why salvation is God’s work from start to finish, why Jesus calls people while they are still sinners, and why resisting God’s conviction often increases the harm. From there, we follow the mission Jesus gives Paul: serve as a faithful steward and testify to what Christ has done. The message also gets practical. We explore what it means to turn from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to God, and why the gospel offers forgiveness of sins and a new identity among the sanctified by faith. We close with a clear challenge to repent, turn to God, and live out deeds that match repentance, including a story about finally obeying a persistent nudge from God.
