MAiDHouse, Revisited - New Leadership and What Comes Next: Disrupting Death with Tamara MacIntyre
“Because with each of these movements, when I talk about the pendulum, there will be people that will be left behind. There will be gaps that are created. There will be complexity of the human circumstance that's going to be highlighted. And, from a MAiDHouse perspective, how do we support them? How do we help, guide them? And who are the people within our communities that can do that?” In this episode, Kathy and Keri-Lyn have the exciting opportunity to revisit MAiDHouse, this time with its new Executive Director, Tamara MacIntyre, to discuss the non-profit organisation now in its eighth year of providing Canadians MAiD care. Tamara MacIntyre, MSc, DC, DNM, EOLD, brings over two decades of healthcare leadership to her role as Executive Director of MAiDHouse Canada. Most recently serving as inaugural Program Director of MAiDHouse Victoria, she successfully launched the organization's second location, fostering critical partnerships with Island Health and community healthcare providers to support individuals and families during end-of-life transitions. A certified end-of-life doula, death educator, and former Dean of Clinical Education, Tamara combines clinical expertise with compassionate leadership to ensure dignified, person-centered care.
