Episode #298
Serving Others with Joy | Stronger Together
Our culture measures success by what we achieve for ourselves. It’s always about what we can get out of it. But Jesus measured greatness in the exact opposite way, by how we serve others. In today’s prayer, Valarie connects serving to the humility she’s spoken about before. Being an effective servant with the heart of Christ starts with a mindset that considers the needs of others. That doesn’t mean neglecting your own. Even in an emergency, you secure yourself before helping someone else. But the heart of it is simple: see the need, meet the need. She offers a gentle reminder that we often pray for God to help other people while forgetting that we can be the answer to those prayers ourselves. God can absolutely answer them, but He often uses conduits, hands and feet, to reach the people He loves. Anchored in Mark 10:45, “for even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,” she describes us as God’s little lampstands, sent to illuminate whatever corner of the world we’re in by meeting needs, whether it’s a kind word or a hot meal. Every act of kindness reflects the heart of the Servant. She prays that God would give us a servant’s heart, help us notice opportunities to love and encourage, and root our motives in gratitude rather than recognition. What if prayer became more than something you do, and instead became the way you live? The Inner Chamber was created for believers who want more than occasional inspiration: a place to build a consistent prayer life, grow in God’s Word, and walk alongside others pursuing a deeper relationship with Christ. Inside you’ll find guided prayer experiences, monthly biblical teachings, practical prayer strategies for life’s real challenges, and a supportive community that grows together. You don’t have to figure out your prayer journey alone. Visit divine515.com to learn more and become part of the Inner Chamber community. Serving others begins by serving Christ, and there’s no greater privilege than that. Share this with someone who needs the encouragement today, and until tomorrow, keep meeting God at the throne.
