Arts & Media Mini Series - Recast of Disability and Dance with Kayla Hamilton
We’ve reached the end of our arts and media mini series, and we’re excited to leave you with this lovely Episode featuring Kayla Hamilton, founder of the cultural organization, Circle O. Kayla talks about her view of disability as method—The idea that the lived experience of disability is its own form of artistic expression. She explains that the ways in which our disabled bodies and minds move through the world are sites of Beauty and pleasure. This is perhaps the most important takeaway from our arts and media mini series—looking at the world through the lens of disability is a deeply generative act, and the more we use art and media to widen this lens, the stronger, more interdependent, and empathic our world can be. Be sure to check out Circle O to learn more about Kayla and her work. - Let us know what you think with a comment or review! Visit our website for transcripts .
