Although the two titles were over with, the battle for second place was heating up nicely with Barrichello, The Williams' & The Mclarens still at it!   2002 German GP *Round 12* (ITV Commentary - James & Martin)

  This was a revised circuit, the long forest straights had gone. This was to improve safety and more fan access to be able to see some cars. Mixed bag of reviews but safe to say.. It wasn't all that bad. Channel 9 popping in and out whenever they please still gets annoying sadly, especially during an epic battle between Montoya and Raikkonen. Also NEWS! There looked to have been a buyer for the Arrows team who really were in dire straits.. So much so, they didnt qualify in the last race but could they be saved? This would be, sadly, Enrique Bernoldis last ever start. As for good stats, A podium finisher would be his countries first to reach 10 podiums. The winner would also get his 10th Hat Trick, and the 2nd ever to complete 10.   This was it then.. Championship deciding day. The last race of the season? Huh? It's NOT! No, there are still 6 races left to go after this one, so the inevitability of Michael Schumacher becoming a 5 time world champion was there for all to see. But could he equal the record with Juan Manuel Fangio with a record 6 races to spare? Well, once again he would have to try to beat the high flying colombian of Juan Pablo Montoya from pole. Amazingly, Tom Walkinshaw paid off some cosworth debts so Arrows were allowed to race, but things for the Orange team would soon get worse. Plus, David Coulthards fastest lap in this race was the LAST one until 2007! Amazing stat.   2002 British GP *Round 10* (ITV Commentary - James & Martin)

  Although the championship seems to be inevitable, there is still no such thing as no drama in F1. First of all, apologies about the Aussie Channel 9 coverage, they really really enjoy a good talking about nothing sometimes over the track action, which did involve Rubens Barrichello stalling on the grid and having to start from the back. Plus of course, talking through the middle of the race instead of going straight back to the commentary team. Also, at the very end of the race, as the winner crossed the line and we were about to find out who finished third, technical difficulties meant it got cut off.. So yeah lol. As for the usual stats.. Michael Schumacher set a NEW record of 107 podiums in this race! JV Finished 4th, Panis 5th (Both for BAR), Heidfeld finished 6th for Sauber.   Onto round 7 for the Monaco GP and after the uproar from the last race in Austria, people were keen to see what Jean Todt and the Ferrari Higher ups would do next.. Luckily, nothing but Schumacher was determined to beat Rubens without Team orders from now on. Saturday went a little different, Juan Pablo Montoya and Monaco Specialist David Coulthard lined up on the front row, Schumi was 3rd, but anything could happen on these streets..
