Trump Is Censoring Us
JOURNALISTS ARE BEING CENSORED AND KIDNAPPED BY ICE When Censorship Goes Offline: TikTok, ICE and the Expanding Power to Control What We See The people in power want to stay in power — by any means necessary. From social-media moderation to the shooting, kidnapping and detention of a journalist, the lines between information control, immigration enforcement and public accountability are getting harder to ignore. Is censorship getting worse? I’m noticing it. And so is journalist Nick Valencia. In this episode of Facts Over Fear, we’re looking at three stories that raise that question from very different angles: TikTok censorship: Journalists and creators are raising new concerns about content being restricted or suppressed, including Nick Valencia and me. Ricardo Parias: A journalist who was shot in the elbow while covering ICE is approaching 300 days in immigration detention, his wound festering without access to proper medical care, raises serious questions about press freedom and government power. ICE detention: Nearly 400,000 people have been booked into ICE detention from interior arrests since the Trump administration began.
