About this Podcast:
There are parts of my life I never thought I would have the courage to talk about. My story isn’t pretty—there’s abuse, trauma, mental health struggles, shame, heartbreak, and a whole lot of things I wish had never happened. But there’s also something I can’t leave out: God. Somehow, through every chapter I thought would destroy me, He kept me here. And now I’m finally ready to tell my story. I’m Gingersnap, and FaithwithGingersnap is where I’m going to get real about the parts of life we don’t always feel comfortable talking about. This isn’t a podcast where I pretend I have everything figured out. I don’t. I’m still learning, still healing, still asking questions, and still trying to understand some of the things I’ve lived through. But I’ve learned that sometimes the first step toward healing is being brave enough to say, “This happened to me.” We’ll talk about mental health, trauma, abuse, shame, relationships, fear, pain, healing, faith, and what it means to keep going when life has given you every reason to give up. One of the biggest things we’ll explore is shame —the kind that makes you hide, the kind that makes you feel broken, and the kind you carry even when what happened to you was never your fault. We’ll talk about what God says about the shame we carry , how He can help us begin to lay it down, and what it can look like to heal from the things that have hurt us. We’ll have honest conversations about faith—not the perfect, picture-perfect kind, but the kind of faith you hold onto when you’re hurting, confused, angry, scared, or simply trying to make it through another day. We’ll also spend time talking about Unashamed by Christine Caine , a Christian author whose message about breaking free from shame speaks directly to so much of what I’ve experienced. Her words will help guide some of our conversations, but this podcast is ultimately about something much bigger: learning who we are when we stop allowing our past and our shame to define us. Some conversations will be heavy. Some will make you cry. Some might make you uncomfortable. And hopefully, some will make you laugh your ass off, because life isn’t always trauma and tears. 😂 I want this to be a place where you can show up exactly as you are. You don’t have to pretend you’re okay here. You don’t have to have all the answers. You don’t have to be perfect. And you don’t have to be ashamed of the things you’ve survived. So grab your coffee, pull up a seat, and come talk with me about the things we usually keep buried. Because maybe healing isn’t about forgetting what happened to us—maybe it’s about learning to live unashamed, unchained, and free in the life God still has ahead of us. ❤️🎙️
