PWP #99 | Prospects Week 21
Tim Kanak (@fantasyaceball) and Jon Anderson (@JonPgh) are back with another episode of the T-10 MLB Prospects of the Week , powered by MLB Data Warehouse . Every week, Tim and Jon break down the most impressive performances from across Minor League Baseball, combining prospect scouting, player development, dynasty fantasy baseball analysis, statistical performance, and future MLB upside . #1 Austin Gordon, SP, Angels — AA The Angels right-hander takes the top spot after a dominant week that included 7 perfect innings and 8 strikeouts . Gordon has become one of the biggest helium stories in the Angels system, featuring a four-pitch mix led by two distinct breaking balls. #2 Jason Schiavone, C/1B, Astros — AA Thirty home runs. Twenty-seven stolen bases. As a catcher. Schiavone continues one of the most unexpected breakout seasons in the minors after hitting .400 with 6 extra-base hits and 5 home runs this week. #3 Andrew Fischer, 1B/3B, Brewers — AA Fischer surpassed 40 home runs on the season, including a three-homer game during another massive week. The raw power is absolutely elite, and the big question is whether the hit tool can improve enough for the entire offensive profile to play. #4 Matthew Etzel, OF, Marlins — AAA Etzel filled up the box score with a .429 average, 5 extra-base hits, 3 homers, and 3 steals . The athletic outfielder continues to show a balanced offensive profile with power, speed, and on-base ability. #5 Mason Molina, SP, Cardinals — AAA Fresh off his promotion to Triple-A, Molina delivered 5 scoreless innings with 9 strikeouts and no walks . His excellent changeup leads a pitch mix that could eventually make him a valuable big-league starter. #6 Jason Gilman, SP, Red Sox — High-A The Division III product is one of the best stories in the Red Sox system, punching out 10 hitters over 5⅓ scoreless innings . His elite fastball carry and nasty sweeper are producing serious swing-and-miss results. #7 Carter Graham, 1B, Reds — AA One of the year's biggest breakout bats, Graham hit .348 with 5 extra-base hits and 4 home runs . A legitimate swing-path adjustment has helped transform his power production. #8 Patrick Forbes, SP, Diamondbacks — High-A The former shortstop turned power pitcher struck out 8 hitters in 4 scoreless innings . With velocity up to 100 mph and a deep arsenal, Forbes possesses some of the most exciting raw stuff in the Arizona system. #9 Tai Peete, OF, Cardinals — AA Peete continues his monster second half, hitting .556 with 2 home runs and 2 steals . The power and speed combination is electric, and his recent production has been impossible for dynasty managers to ignore. #10 Brian Curley, SP/RP, Diamondbacks — AA Curley rounds out the T-10 after 5 shutout innings and 9 strikeouts . The undersized fireballer brings triple-digit velocity, multiple quality breaking pitches, and the attitude to potentially become a high-leverage weapon. • Week 21's best MLB prospect performances • Dynasty baseball risers and breakout candidates • The biggest power hitters in MiLB • Breakout pitching prospects • Prospect scouting reports and tool grades • Future MLB contributors and fantasy baseball targets • Which performances are sustainable — and which might be fool's gold?
