Small Lifestyle Changes That Matter | Fighting Dementia Episode 38
On this episode of the Fighting Dementia Podcast, hosts Leon, Fran, and Tom speak with Dr. Sabine Donnai, a Belgian-trained GP who now runs a London clinic focused on optimising whole-body health to support brain function. Dr. Donnai explains dementia as the brain protecting itself from harmful drivers - such as diabetes, high blood pressure, excess weight, toxins, gut and hormone issues, or head injuries - and stresses it’s never too late to make changes that can slow progression and sometimes improve early cognitive decline, though severe damage may be irreversible. She emphasises basics like whole foods, sleep, stress management, purpose, activity, omega-3s, vitamin D, and avoiding excess sugar, plus learning challenging new skills rather than relying on crosswords.
