Getting Ahead of the Teen Girl Mental Health Crisis | Ila Marchetta, U4U
Ila Marchetta, Founder of U4U, shares the story behind building the first social wellness platform designed to support teen girls before they reach a mental health crisis. Before launching U4U, Ila spent years as an innovation and growth consultant solving big problems for companies like Microsoft and Unilever, alongside decades of hands-on work in youth empowerment as a dance teacher, girls basketball coach, and Girl Scout troop leader. But the idea for U4U goes all the way back to her own experience as a teen girl who wished something like it existed. That mission took on new urgency during COVID, when Ila saw an opening she hadn't seen before: young people were suddenly online, accessible, and able to get support in the exact moments they needed it. U4U was built to meet girls there, clinical and evidence-based on the inside, but fun and engaging on the outside.
