Lucas and Luna run the numbers on independent work — consulting, freelancing, self-employment — as a career path that's part hustle, part strategy, and increasingly mainstream. Each episode takes a concrete case: how a former McKinsey partner built a solo advisory firm billing $1,200 an hour, what the IRS's 2023 tax data reveals about the median solo consultant's net income ($68,000, not the Instagram fantasy), or how a software developer in Omaha replaced a $140K salary with three retainer clients. Lucas tracks the macro — Bureau of Labor Statistics data on the 64 million independent workers in the U.S., the rise of 'portfolio careers' among Gen Xers, the legal grey zones of worker classification — while Luna drills into the micro: how to price a first contract, set boundaries with a client who expects 'unlimited revisions', or build a niche so specific that competitors don't bother. They never pretend it's easy: episodes also cover cash-flow volatility, the loneliness of solo work, a

Why Freelancers Fail at Scaling With AI
Sep 30, 202610 minS5
Most freelancers treat artificial intelligence like a productivity multiplier, but the real bottleneck is trust. We break down why clients are hesitant to let AI handle core deliverables and how independent consultants can build an 'AI-augmented' workflow that actually scales without losing the human touch. Using recent data on adoption rates and client feedback loops, we explore the gap between what tools can do and what buyers will pay for. If you're trying to grow your solo practice in late September two thousand twenty-six, this is the missing piece of your growth strategy. #FreelanceGrowth #AIProductivity #ConsultingStrategy #SoloEntrepreneur #BusinessScaling #ClientTrust #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #TechAdoption #ServiceBusiness #DigitalNomad #FutureOfWork #FreelanceTips #MarketingAutomation #ContentCreation #B2BServices #RemoteWork #EconomicTrends Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Lucas and Luna explore the silent productivity drain that hits independent consultants around month six. They break down why smart freelancers start missing deadlines not because they lack skill, but because they lack a peer review system. Using a specific case of a graphic designer who saved her career by joining a mastermind group, they offer a practical framework for building accountability without becoming dependent on clients. #FreelanceLife #IndependentConsultant #SelfEmployment #ProductivityHacks #MentalHealthAtWork #BusinessGrowth #ClientManagement #RemoteWorkTips #SoloEntrepreneur #AccountabilityPartner #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #CareerAdvice #FreelancerMindset #WorkLifeBalance #ConsultingStrategy #SoloPractice #ProfessionalDevelopment Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Lucas and Luna dissect the silent revenue killer that plagues independent consultants: scope creep. Using a specific case of a marketing strategist who lost twenty percent of her project value through vague initial agreements, they explore how to define boundaries without losing clients. The episode offers a concrete framework for writing 'out-of-scope' clauses into contracts, turning potential friction into clear professional expectations. Listeners will learn one practical way to protect their time and profitability in every new engagement. #FreelanceCareers #ScopeCreep #ConsultingTips #IndependentWork #BusinessGrowth #ContractNegotiation #ClientManagement #SelfEmployment #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #FreelanceLife #ProjectManagement #ValueBasedPricing #CareerAdvice #Solopreneur #ProfessionalServices #RevenueProtection #LucasAndLuna Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Lucas and Luna dissect the silent profit-killer for independent consultants: the hidden overhead that erodes margins on every project. Using a specific case of a marketing strategist who thought she was charging two hundred dollars an hour but was actually netting eighty, they break down the true cost of software subscriptions, health insurance premiums, retirement contributions, and the unpaid hours spent on admin work. This episode offers a concrete framework for calculating your real hourly rate versus your effective take-home pay, helping freelancers stop leaving money on the table. #FreelanceFinance #ConsultingBusiness #HiddenCosts #HourlyRateCalculation #SelfEmploymentTips #OverheadManagement #FreelancerMindset #ProfitMargins #IndependentContractors #BusinessOfOne #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #CareerStrategy #FinancialLiteracy #WorkLifeBalance #PricingStrategy #RemoteWorkEconomics #SmallBizGrowth Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Lucas and Luna explore the quiet advantage of specialized niche expertise in today’s freelance market. They discuss how independent consultants can move beyond generalist pricing traps by developing deep domain knowledge that clients cannot easily replace. Using specific examples from management consulting and digital marketing, they break down the process of identifying high-value sub-niches, building proprietary frameworks, and communicating value rather than hours. Every question we get asked before someone starts their trial.
If you have a concern about deliverability, AI quality, data privacy, or whether this will actually work for your specific situation, it's probably answered below.
What is the difference between Founder Solo and Founder Pro?
Founder Solo gives you 50 AI pitches per month using the credit model (Standard pitches cost 1 credit, Enriched pitches cost 2). Founder Pro raises that to 200 credits per month and adds full Booking Probability access, unlimited Magic Match, Apollo enrichment credits, and data export capabilities. Both plans use the same credit system, so you can stretch your monthly budget further by using Standard-mode drafting.
How do agency tiers work?
Agency tiers have no base fee. You pay per managed client and per talent profile. Agency Standard is $199 per client per month; Agency Pro is $399 per client per month. Both add $39 per talent profile per month. Your own team's user seats are always free.
What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No charges after that. Your data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate.
Is the 20% annual discount automatic?
Yes. Select Annual on the pricing toggle and the discounted price is applied automatically at checkout. The annual price shown is the full year cost.
What if I have more than 50 profiles or 20 clients?
That is our Enterprise tier. Contact our sales team and we will build a custom plan with volume pricing, a dedicated account manager, and SLA guarantees.
