Jordan Rawls: Trusting God When Obedience Doesn't Make Sense
What happens when you believe God has told you to move—but everything you've learned tells you to stay where it's safe? Three years after his first appearance on God's Glory In Men's Real Stories , Jordan Rawls returns in a very different season. For 12 years, Jordan built a career in corporate technology. It provided stability, income and security for his family. But underneath that security was growing discontentment, stress and declining health. Jordan believed God had placed something else inside him. The question became whether he trusted God enough to actually follow it. Eventually, Jordan and his wife made the decision for him to leave his career and go all-in on Wealthy and Relaxed , their Christian life-coaching platform. But getting there wasn't simple. His wife initially feared what leaving a stable career could mean for their family. Jordan wrestled with whether he was being responsible or disobedient. Even people who loved him sometimes encouraged the safer path. In this conversation, Robert and Jordan explore delayed obedience, aggressive faith, marriage, provision, fear, purpose, calling, financial security and learning to trust God when His direction challenges our logic. They also wrestle with an uncomfortable question: How often do we say we're “waiting on God” when God has already told us to move? This isn't a conversation telling you to quit your job or imitate Jordan's decision. It's an invitation to examine where fear, comfort, logic or even our definition of good stewardship may be competing with what God has already asked of us. Because sometimes surrender isn't only giving God your pain. Sometimes you have to surrender your logic too.
