High Gravity

High Gravity is a show where we talk about beer, brewing, and bullshit! Our primary goal is to talk about Michigan goings on in the beer world and local happenings around our beautiful state. Our aim is to present this information in a fun and not too serious way so that everyone from new brewers and beer drinkers to the most seasoned and experienced enthusiasts can enjoy the show! The more we drink during the show, the more comes out and the more fun we have so language CAN get a bit colorful at times though we do our best to keep it in check, most of the time!! We hope you enjoy the show!

Episode 149: Mike likes beer too

  Sep 26, 202645 min

Episode 149: Mike likes beer too Thumbs up for Mike is back again with us this week and the conversation is rather beer related at least at first. interesting conversations at least and not going to lie, yet again was working on a few things while editing and kinda forgot to make notes at times so sit back and enjoy this episode as we both listen to what we talked about! We did get into a fair bit of nerd speak conversation towards the end, I do remember that part... Episode 148: Jims Back

  Sep 21, 202659 min

Episode 148: Jims Back With the return of Mr. Jim we kick this episode off with a new guest! You have heard us refer to him and occasionally rope him into a sample or two on the show but we OFFICIALLY welcome our new guest JP! He's a local staple at the brewery as a bartender and on karaoke nights as well and we finally get him to sit in with us on the show! The guys do have a bit of a theme in todays episode, primarily based on "No Rules" as they have quite a selection in the show beer bin. Brother Darrell has a nice bit of news of some new options coming to the brewery as well! Going to make you all listen to the episode to find that out though and how the rest of the show goes! Beers featured in this episode: Winter Lager - Brew Detroit No Rules Maple Bourbon Pecan Pie 2026 - Perrin Brewing Co No Rules Bramble Berry 2026 - Perrin Brewing Co No Rules Double Barrel 2026 - Perrin Brewing Co #HighGravity

Episode 147: Till Death Do Us Part

  Sep 5, 20261h 6m

Episode 147: Till Death Do Us Part We are joined this with with returning guest Mel! AND Jim again being played by Bob this week. I had forgotten when recording that we had Steve and Maureen on awhile back so Bob and Mel were in fact NOT the first husband/wife at the same time HOWEVER, the first ones to have appeared separately and then together! Once again lots of good beers and audience members which makes for wonderful conversations and per our usual mantra, the bullshit is VERY plentiful this week, things are ALL OVER THE PLACE! We are again graced with the presence of Darrells new "friend" as well for some technical info on the fly! Oh and be warned, Bob's first drunk story is LONG but lots of funny points and good happy ending. Beers featured in this episode: Rolling Gourd Pumpkin Porter - Big Lake Brewing Rescue Ale - Petosky Brewing Velvet Peanut Butter Porter - Lansing Brewing Company Pillar of Beasts - 3 Floyds Brewing #HighGravity

Episode 146: Jim Bob Jim was out of our office this week so we had a fill in, BOB! One of our latest night recording sessions yet, but we had lots of beers, lots of fun, Thumbs up for Mike joined us again, things got a bit wild and odd but it was a great time! Lots more audience members this time too so that helped make things extra weird and fun!! Darrell introduces a new friend partway through the show as well that makes for some fun conversation from this show into the next one even! Definitely a fun one to listen to and enjoy!! DO NOT WORRY THOUGH, WE DID NOT REPLACE JIM, he will be back in a few episodes haha. Episode 145: Clearing the Cellar

  Aug 22, 202653 min

Episode 145: Clearing the Cellar After doing some digging through the cellar bin, the guys choose a few wonderful beverages to try out on today's episode as they are joined once again by Mr. Arthur! There is some more wonderful discussion and descriptions about Malort that the guys got their hands on awhile back too courtesy of Mr. Bob and Mrs. Mel, I do maintain it REALLY isn't as bad as everyone seems to think, assuming you go into knowing it will be bad... Conversation is as expected for the guys this episode, it gets weird at times and is plenty of fun throughout all the random conversations this week! ALSO, we at High Gravity do not ACTUALLY hate Ohio by any means, it's just a college football thing I promise lmao. Dragon's Milk Reserve: Bourbon Barrel-Aged Stout With Chocolate, Marshmallow, And Graham Cracker (2022-3) - New Holland Brewing Ryetoberfest - Griffin Claw Brewing Company #HighGravity
