Part 2 of 3: GINNA ERICKSEN - Multigenerational Living and Support Through PMHDs
Send us Fan Mail On today's episode, we're kicking off part two of a three-part series where we'll hear about the pregnancy and postpartum experience from the perspective of a mother who supported her daughter every step of the way. Today, we're sitting down with Ginna Ericksen. Besides being a member of the PSI Volunteer Hall of Fame... That's not a real thing, I just made it up. Ginna is Emily Johnson's mom and the other half of the story that you heard in part one of this series. Today, we'll get the view from the support person. We'll talk about the early signs that didn't look like much at the time, the things that Ginna noticed during Emily's pregnancy that only made sense in hindsight, and what it's like to be the family member trying to get someone the right help from a system that just isn't built to move fast. The road that followed included some genuinely frightening moments and a lot of advocating. What changed everything? Ginna's incessant drive to ask important questions and find answers. This one is tender and essential listening for anyone loving someone through perinatal mental health complications. So without any further ado, please sit back, relax, and enjoy part two with our friend, Ginna.
