  This Saturday, today on August 15th, I kept hearing the same question: “Dad, are we done yet?” And every time I heard it, I felt the temptation to answer from frustration instead of purpose. Because as dads, we know the feeling. We have the yard work, housework, car work, errands, repairs, workouts, business responsibilities, and the thousand small things that keep a family moving. Especially in the middle of sports, practices, games, homeschooling, and everything else that fills a family calendar, Saturdays can feel like the only real chance to get things handled, and an open Saturday to do just that, is rare. But when my son asks, “Are we done yet?” I am learning that it is never just a question about the task in front of us. It is a teaching moment. There is beauty in a Saturday spent getting things done, especially when your son is beside you and every task becomes another chance to teach. Keep working. Keep teaching. Keep showing them.
