Trust Physics: The Five Laws That Actually Build (or Break) Trust
"Trust is not just a vibe or a feeling," Hanna says. "It follows laws, just like physics does. It's either being built or eroded with every action you take and every conversation you have." This episode is Hanna's five laws of Trust Physics, in her own words: trust isn't a vibe, it isn't a currency, and it isn't a feeling that simply happens to you. It follows laws, whether you're paying attention to them or not. Trust can break in a nanosecond and take far longer to rebuild. The thing you're afraid to say doesn't just disappear, it sits inside you and turns into something closer to poison. And niceness, the thing most of us think is protecting people, is often just deciding on someone else's behalf what they're allowed to feel. This is where those laws become practical. Bend a deadline once for one person, and everyone else quietly learns the rule was never real. Choose niceness over honesty, and that avoidance becomes its own kind of harm. When accountability finally arrives, Hanna explains DARVO (deny, attack, reverse victim and offender), what she calls "the classic apology sneak escape hatch"—the move that appears the moment someone is confronted and needs you to become the problem instead. The Locked Chest: What you don't say doesn't disappear. It occupies the space where your peace should be. Non-Consent: Withholding the truth to protect someone's feelings isn't kindness. It's deciding what they're allowed to know and feel. DARVO: Deny, attack, reverse victim and offender—the classic escape hatch when accountability arrives. ⚖️ Inconsistency: Every exception teaches people whether your standards are real. Trust isn't something you either have or don't have. It's a system of laws operating beneath every relationship, whether you're aware of them or not. Trust Physics is what happens when you start paying attention. 0:00 Catching Up: Camp Bazy 7:45 Welcome to Trust Physics 8:26 What Is Trust Physics 11:02 Law 1: Trust Breaks Faster Than It Heals 13:47 Law 2: The Thing You Won't Say Traps You 16:30 A Leadership Mistake: The Cost of Staying Silent 19:24 DARVO: Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender 21:15 Law 3: Niceness Is a Form of Non-Consent 23:10 Talking Around the Problem Person 25:13 Law 4: Inconsistency Warps the System 28:13 Deadlines, Exceptions, and Fairness 30:03 Intent vs Impact 30:53 Law 5: Accountability Is the Force That Restores Integrity 31:35 Closing Learn more about the work: https://consciencedrivenleadership.com Subscribe for future episodes exploring intuition, conscience, and leadership: / @consciencedrivenleadership Stay connected with #CDLPodcast : / conscience-driven-leadership / conscience-driven-leadership ✉️ Contact: podcast@conscience-driven-leadership.com #ConscienceDrivenLeadership #IntuitiveLeadership #LeadershipPodcast Inside Conscience-Driven Leadership explores leadership rooted in intuition, responsibility, and a deep commitment to building systems that serve people.
