Dave Frodsham: Pleasing the unchanging God
What does it mean to live a life of faith when everything around us feels a bit shaken? Dave brings us to the final chapter of the letter to the Hebrews, reminding us that the Christian life is an adventure, a race, and a walk of faith where we have to keep our eyes firmly fixed on Jesus. As the world changes and uncertainties creep in, Dave highlights the ultimate anchor for our souls: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Dave breaks down three key things the writer of Hebrews reminds us to do: 1. Remember those who went before you 🙌 Dave shares a great illustration about a tour guide on a volcano. When it erupted, everyone’s instinct was to run down, but the guide knew the safe path was actually up. God provides us with leaders and guides to point us in the right direction. Dave encourages us to look at the faith of godly leaders who have walked through massive difficulties and stayed faithful—and to imitate that kind of enduring faith. 2. Remember where your strength comes from 💪 Spoiler alert: It doesn’t come from strict rules, temporary comforts, or the latest self-help trends on Instagram! Dave reminds us that our true strength comes entirely from leaning into God’s grace. Jesus suffered “outside the camp” to pay the price for us, and sometimes following Him means stepping out of our comfort zones, moving toward people in need, and standing up for what we believe in—even if it means facing ridicule. 3. Offer sacrifices that please God ❤️ Dave highlights three practical ways we can bring pleasure to God in our daily lives: A Sacrifice of Praise: Worshipping God as a lifestyle, no matter what our circumstances look like. Doing Good and Sharing: Living out our faith by being kind, generous, and holding our possessions lightly. Supporting Your Leaders: Walking in unity with the leaders who care for your soul, making their job a joy rather than a burden, and lifting them up in prayer. We’re not in this alone. We are a body, walking this path together, anchored by a God who never changes. The post Dave Frodsham: Pleasing the unchanging God first appeared on Jubilee Church Wirral .
