Episode #70
70 | To The Ends of The Earth - Karl Gibson
Aug 18, 202623 min
In this message, Karl Gibson explores the two churches in Acts—Jerusalem and Antioch—and what they teach us about being the Church today. Jerusalem was the birthplace of the early church, marked by powerful teaching, prayer, fellowship, generosity, spiritual growth, and community. But Antioch became the launching point from which the gospel spread to the nations. This message explores the danger of becoming a “holy huddle” and reminds us that the church is not a fortress designed to retreat from the world—it is a people called to carry the light of Jesus into it. Like the believers in Antioch, we are called to worship, pray, listen to the Holy Spirit, make disciples, raise up leaders, and release people into their God-given calling. Whether you're a church leader, a longtime believer, or simply trying to understand your place in God's mission, this message is an invitation to ask: Am I only gathering, or am I willing to go? Am I willing to release what God has entrusted to me so that the gospel can advance? What happens when life doesn’t look the way we expected it to? Psalm 115 reminds us that God is still worthy of our praise—even in seasons of disappointment, uncertainty, hardship, and waiting. He is still on the throne, He is still faithful, and He is still our deliverer and protector. In this message, Jed explores the danger of idolatry and how it can look different in our modern lives. We may not bow down to a golden calf, but we can easily place our trust in our own strength, desires, control, success, or self-reliance. When we put ourselves on the throne instead of God, we lose sight of the One who truly gives us life. No matter what season you’re in, God has not forgotten you. Your circumstances do not change His faithfulness, and your feelings do not change the truth that He is on the throne. The invitation is simple: tear down the idols, surrender control, trust God completely, and let your life become an overflow of praise for His glory. In this powerful message from Proverbs 25:28, Karl Gibson explores the biblical truth that "a person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls." While our culture often defines self-control as willpower or discipline, Scripture reveals that true self-control is a fruit of the Holy Spirit and a vital safeguard for every area of our lives. Whether you're struggling with your emotions, words, habits, relationships, temptations, or thought life, this teaching will encourage you to stop relying on your own strength and instead allow the Holy Spirit to transform you from the inside out. Discover why healthy spiritual boundaries matter, how to identify the "broken walls" in your life, and what it looks like to rebuild them through surrender, prayer, and obedience. What does it look like to trust Jesus when the storm doesn't stop? In this powerful message from Matthew 14:22–33, David Campbell explores the familiar story of Jesus walking on water and Peter stepping out of the boat—but through a fresh biblical lens. More than a story about fear or failure, this passage reveals God's invitation to trust Him, gain His perspective, and walk by faith even when circumstances seem impossible. When the disciples found themselves battling wind and waves, Jesus didn't immediately calm the storm. Instead, He came to them in the middle of it. This message examines why God sometimes allows us to remain in difficult seasons, how waiting on Him transforms our faith, and why true biblical faith is rooted not in certainty about outcomes, but in confidence in the person of Jesus Christ. David also uncovers the deeper biblical significance of Jesus walking on the sea, showing how this miracle points to Christ's authority over the powers of darkness and His invitation for every believer to participate in advancing God's Kingdom. Whether you're facing uncertainty, disappointment, fear, or a season that requires courageous obedience, this sermon will encourage you to fix your eyes on Jesus, trust His presence, and take the next faithful step. No matter what storm you're facing, Jesus is present, His grace is sufficient, and His invitation remains the same: "Come." The greatest miracle isn't simply that Peter walked on water—it's that Jesus called him to trust beyond what seemed possible.
