SET AN EXAMPLE 1 Timothy 4:7, 12–16 What does it really mean to be an example of Christ to the people around you? In this message, we look at Paul’s challenge to Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:12—not to demand respect, but to live a life worthy of respect . Paul calls Timothy to set an example in five areas that every follower of Jesus should take seriously: speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. Our words reveal what is happening in our hearts. Our conduct shows what we truly believe. Our love demonstrates the heart of Christ. Our faith should be visible in the way we live. And our pursuit of purity reflects our desire to honor God with every part of our lives. This message challenges us to stop simply talking about what we believe and start living what we believe . Because people are watching. Set an example in your speech. Set an example in your conduct. Set an example in your love. Set an example in your faith. Set an example in your purity. You don't have to be the oldest, most experienced, or most influential person in the room to make a difference.
